Transportation Options
Valle de Guadalupe is a hidden gem only ~1.5 hours south of the US-Mexico border. We recommend flying into and departing from San Diego International Airport and staying in San Diego if you land late at night or are flying out early in the morning. You have a few options to get from San Diego to Valle de Guadalupe, which we explain below. Note that the estimated prices are one way, total per vehicle (not per person).
Please let us know your flight itinerary and transportation plans directly or through the RSVP form so that we can help coordinate groups, if needed.
Option 1:
Private Driver/Group Shuttle from San Diego
Sit back and leave the driving to a professional! We have coordinated transportation services to help get you to/from San Diego in either 2-6 people vehicles (~$300-$500) or 7-13 people Toyota Hiace vans (~$700). For the return to San Diego, this option will use the fast pass lane and save significant time (especially for those who do not have Global Entry). This is the easiest option, but also the most expensive.
Option 2:
Private Driver/Group Shuttle from Mexico
For a more cost-effective option, our transportation providers can also pick up/drop off on the Mexican side of the Border in 2-6 people vehicles (~$225-$400) or 7-20 people Toyota Hiace / Mercedes Sprinter vans ($500-$550). You would Uber ~20 minutes from San Diego to the San Ysidro pedestrian border crossing, cross with your passport, and meet your driver on the other side. We have done this in the past and it is quick and easy to cross the border; on the return trip, we would recommend this option only if you have Global Entry.
Option 3:
Drive Yourself/Rent a Car
This is typically how we travel to Valle, especially coming from Los Angeles. Having a car gives you more opportunity to explore within Valle, Ensanada, Rosarito, or anywhere else along the way. However, we would only recommend this option for those of you who have visited previously or are comfortable driving outside of the U.S. While the majority of the drive is very safe and easy on well-maintained toll roads (USD accepted), the border crossing on your return to the US can be chaotic unless you have Global Entry and/or SENTRI.
